Ibiza Museum (Es Trui de can n'Andreu)

This Ibiza museum is situated in San Carlos, just up the road from Lottie Bogotti antique and vintage shop. It is in fact a traditional Ibicencan home, perfectly preserved so that we can imagine life as far back as the 17th century.

The architecture is typical for Ibiza and made up of joined up blocks of construction (to reflect the extending family needs) with flat roofs and small windows. The walls are thick and white to keep the heat out.

A visit to this museum will give you an insight into rural life in Ibiza, both the home life of cooking, cleaning, sewing and leisure activities as well as the labour intensive practicalities of farming.

To find the museum, take the turning at Bar Anita that takes you towards Cala Llenya. At the first bend in the road you will see green gates on your left. That is the museum entrance.
