Ibiza has several markets and this page will eventually cover all of them. They include car boot sales, mostly for ordinary people wanting to sell their used items, artisan markets and general markets offering mostly new goods.
Hippy Market - Las Dalias, Ibiza
Las Dalias market is on the Santa Eulalia to San Carlos road just before the village. It's open during the day every Saturday, on Monday evenings and during the run up to Christmas. On offer is a very interesting array of items from all over the world, but mostly clothing, jewellery, toys, ornaments, handmade footwear and musical instruments. Even if you have no intention of spending money, it makes a good day trip as there are bars and a restuarant too. Arrive early on a Saturday morning in August to avoid the traffic. Parking is available at a small charge. After you've been to the market, pop up the road into the village of San Carlos where you will find the famous Bar Anita, the original village church and
Lottie Bogotti
the antique, vintage and eco-friendly treasure chest.
The village of San Carlos has a lot to offer those interested in a glimpse of traditional life in Ibiza. There are now several independently run boutiques, bars, cafes, restaurants and massage parlours for you to amble around on a cloudy day when the beach is not so tempting. Car Boot Sale - San Jordi, Ibiza
The car boot sale at the hippodrome at San Jordi is held every Saturday from about 9am until 2.30pm. Anyone can go to sell but must either mark their spot on the Friday before at 5pm or go along early on the day and hope there's a space left.
People can sell anything apart from food and most sell their unwanted possessions. You can find anything including clothing, jewellery, car parts, furniture, plants and even puppies in need of homes!
Flea Market -Cala Llenya, Ibiza
The flea market at Cala Llenya is held every Sunday, in winter and summer, during daylight hours and offers an array of second hand goods. You can find children's clothes, antiques, vintage clothing, jewellery, ornaments, books, CDs, furniture, houswares and tools. There is a restaurant and bar on site offering paella (for only eight euros!) and Cala Llenya beach is just a short coastal walk away. The best thing about this market is the music from the 60s, 70s and 80s, giving an authentic hippie/rock chic feel. This market is also very close to
Lottie Bogotti.
Turn right at Bar Anita in San Carlos and go towards Cala Llenya. When you get to the road sign for Cala Llenya, take the turn after it that looks straight opposite you. Drive along the country lane and you'll find the market.
Hippy Market - Es Canar, Ibiza
The hippy market at Es Canar in Ibiza is held every Wednesday throughout the year and offers a huge array of new goods from around the world. Expect to find fashionable, ethnic or unusual clothing, jewellery, musical instruments, toys and ornaments.
