Each high quality piece takes several hours to make to painstaking precision to ensure a smooth fit, a long life and the most flattering effect. They are traditional-style corsets, the pattern being based on an old Victorian corset pattern which has been adapted to the modern shape. They're made similarly to how they used to be, except obviously without the whalebone! Whalebone was replaced with steel bones which is what creates the structure in Jus corsets. In fact, spiral steel bones are used as they are more comfortable as they are more flexible and will bend in both directions. This flexibility will help make the corset last a long time. Plastic boning, which only bends in one direction, soon loses its shape as the plastic becomes permanently distorted. The center back has straight steel bones to take the strain of the laces. Each is fully lined and creates a snug yet comfortable fit and an hourglass figure. The only measurement you need to worry about is the waist as a small bust will be made to look more voluptuous and a large bust will simply be lifted higher than a small one. Corsets are designed to make an imperfect figure look more perfect so you do not have to be perfect to wear one! However, if you have a very small bust and a very large waist, or a very large bust and a tiny waist, these garments may not be for you. These corsets hook at the front and lace at the back.
