How to wash a corset

1. Hand wash the corset in lukewarm water with a mild non-biological detergent.

2. Rinse throughly.

3. Do not wring. Pat dry gently with a towel, then stretch gently to regain its original shape.

4. To dry, hang horizontally across a coat hanger or back of chair, or lay flat on an airer. Dry away from direct heat.

5. Do not allow it to stay damp for too long, to avoid damaging the steel bones.

6. If necessary, iron on reverse on cool setting.

Dry cleaning is done at your own risk as this method has not been tested. Seek specialist advice on this cleaning option.

After each wearing allow your corset to air for a while by hanging over a coat hanger or chair.

These garments are best worn over another a slip, blouse, vest, top or dress to avoid having to wash it too often as this is not recommended.
